How do I search by "Research Method" in PsychARTICLES?
You have a psychology assignment that requires certain research methods from peer-reviewed articles.
Now you’re asking –
- Which library database do I use?
- How do I narrow a search to peer-reviewed articles?
- How can I tell which research method the authors used in their journal article?
For this assignment, use the library database – PsycARTICLES.
It has two unique search filters - Peer Review and Methodology – using these filters in a search will help limit results to peer-review articles with a specific method. The search filters are on the left-side of the results page.
After you have found an appropriate peer-reviewed article, read the METHODS section. It describes how authors investigated the research problem to formulate an answer to their research question. In short, what research methods authors used to identify, gather, and collect data and evidence. The Methods section is after the Introduction.
